Last month, ABF The Soldiers’ Charity held its 300th Grants Committee meeting at the Honourable Artillery Company after 75 years of helping soldiers, veterans and their families.

Since 1944, the committee has been meeting four times a year to assess how grants are given to our many partner charities. In the last financial year, the committee oversaw grants to 92 charities that deliver services to the Army family in 68 countries across the globe.

In 1945, one year after its inception, our charity began to award grants to other charities in an effort to ensure soldiers had equal access to welfare after the end of the Second World War. Today, we remain equally committed to supporting the Army family and pride ourselves on acting immediately when help is needed, providing true through-life support for Army and ex-Army personnel and their families.
