Challenge 31

Challenge 31 LogoChallenge 31 is a month-long challenge to get you physically and mentally active throughout October, as the nights draw in and the days get shorter. It doesn’t matter what you do, as long as you do something every day for the whole month. It can be something physical, like going for a walk or a run, or it can be something more psychological, such as giving up smoking or drinking. The choice is yours!

                                       31 Days | 31 Challenges | One Goal

Challenge 31 was devised by Andy Garthwaite and has now become an annual event. In September 2010, while serving in Afghanistan, Andy was involved in a major incident; unfortunately Andy lost his right arm at the shoulder after being hit by a rocket-propelled grenade. Andy was helped by our charity during his immediate recovery and we have been there to support him ever since. Now, he is one of the few people in the world to have a bionic prosthetic arm powered by the brain.

How to enter Challenge 31

There are no fundraising targets, all you need to do is make a £20.00 donation (which is just as much as an incentive for you to keep on track!) and choose your activity or target. You can also set up your own fundraising page on Just Giving if you wish. We will send you all of the details in your Welcome Pack once you have registered.

You can also take part without full registration. Simply donate your registration fee direct to the Just Giving Campaign page here.

Fundraising Support

We are here to support your Challenge 31 efforts so if you have any questions, get in touch with us here.

“You really have been outstanding from the very start and it has been really appreciated” (The Soldiers’ Charity fundraiser, 2020)

Look After Yourself!

If you do embark upon physical challenges, be sure to look after yourself. While daily exercise is encouraged, be careful not to risk injury through repetition of demanding activities. Unless you are a serious ultra-runner, your body may not thank you for attempting 31 consecutive marathons!

Your Privacy Matters

Of course, we will need to communicate with you about Challenge 31 (if you choose to register), after that it is up to you. The registration form allows you to choose how (or if) we communicate with you in the future. We value your privacy; our full privacy statement can be found here.
