Chepstow Stampede

There will be a tough course with obstacles to test your speed, strength, and endurance over 5km and 10km distances. However, it is the perfect course to make your start in obstacle running with a team of friends or colleagues over the 5k course.

The course has been designed to introduce the novice to the physical demands of cross-country running, whilst also challenging the hardiest of elite runners. It includes man-made horse hurdles and maximises the natural obstacles of the stunning surrounding landscape, including ditches and mud pits.

You’ll scale steep banks, conquer leg-burning hills and run through water, as well as the picturesque surroundings of Chepstow Racecourse and Piercefield Park, all while taking in beautiful sections of the Wye Valley Walk – if you have any energy left to enjoy the view!!

The Chepstow Stampede is for all ages: in addition to the adult sections, we have the “Mini-Stampede”, which is open to children aged 5 to 9, and 10 to 13 years old. We also have a special category for 14-15 year olds in the 5k race, so there really is something for everyone.

The minimum age requirement for the full, adult races are as follows:

5k = 16 years old

10k = 18 years old

Fundraising for ABF The Soldiers’ Charity

We are delighted to be partnering with Chepstow Stampede this year; this means you will receive the added benefit of military-style motivation from officers and soldiers of The Royal Welsh Regiment around the course – a guarantee that you will be put through your paces in true Army fashion!

With 2018 being a landmark year for military anniversaries, by taking part in this year’s event you will be a part of a truly special occasion, helping to mark 100 years since the end of the First World War and enabling us to continue our support for soldiers, veterans and their families, for life.

All we ask is for you to set a fundraising target that matches your entry fee.  You can set up a JustGiving page and ask all your friends and family to support you on your challenge, or you can use one of our sponsorship forms and fill it out manually.

We hope to make this unique day a fun, family event so everyone who completes the course will receive a coveted Finisher’s Medal (pictured below).

So why not? Come and join our Fundraising Army and round-off 2018 as a #WelshWarrior!
