We are delighted to announce the launch of our Och Aye M’Goun – A Moroccan Adventure, trekking in the stunning Central Atlas Mountains of Morocco to conquer the summit of Mount M’Goun.

A wonderful eight-day trip you’ll never forget. The M’Goun Massif is a spectacular spine of mountain ridges and sculpted valleys. This summit is the second highest point in North Africa. Located in the remote Ait Bougamez Valley, ‘The Happiness Valley’, which gets its name from the cheerful and welcoming local Berber people, this summit is regarded as Morocco’s best kept secret.

We will follow ancient caravan routes as we trek through the valley and high plateau, finally reaching Mount M’Goun which is the valley’s crowning glory and a superb peak for true adventurers aspiring to get well off the beaten track. The Massif is surrounded by fragrant orchards, dramatic gorges, lush pastures and we discover a hidden pocket of Morocco where travellers are rarely seen. By day, we trek through this amazing scenery while at night, we camp on the beautiful high pastures used by nomadic shepherds.

Reason for trekking for the ABF The Soldiers’ Charity

Taking part in the Och Aye M’Goun- A Moroccan Adventure will help us raise vital funds so that all soldiers, veterans and their immediate families in need have the opportunity to avoid hardship and enjoy independence and dignity.

The overall scale, breath and range of the charity’s support is as vast as the Massif itself. We continue to help serving families cope with a sudden bereavement or traumatic loss; provide wide-ranging support to wounded soldiers, many of whom will need increasing financial assistance for decades to come; provide help with housing, education and training for future employment for soldiers and veterans of all ages; we are there for older veterans and their widows or widowers when they find themselves lonely or isolated.

In the past year, we have helped 70,000 people in 62 countries across the globe. Throughout the ongoing pandemic, we have helped many other charities and organisations to support the Army family at large.
