Calling all RLC Regiments! Can you take the racing crown from 17 Port & Maritime Regt, RLC, the winners of last year’s Dragon Boat Competition?
They just beat 29 Regt, RLC and took the cup away from 3 Regt, RLC who were the previous winners.
Gather your team and enter our RLC Inter-Regiment Dragon Boat Competition to raise funds for the Army family on Sunday 14th May 2023, River Thames, Abingdon. Family and friends are welcome to come and cheer you on!
The Dragon Boat racing is the main focus of the day for both the competitors and spectators, but we will be arranging for refreshments and entertainment, especially for children.
Races will start at 10:30am and will continue throughout the day with the race finals and medal presentation ceremony by 6pm.
Admission for spectators is free and car parking costs just £5 for the whole day.

About the competition
Each team (boat) is comprised of 16 paddlers, plus a drummer. Each team should have at least 20 people so different members can race throughout the day. Teams can be mixed or all male or all female.
Each team will have a minimum of three races and the fastest teams will compete in the final. Races start at 10:30am and finish at 6pm, with race finals and a presentation ceremony.
All equipment is provided by the organisers. Each team is given a full safety briefing and a short practice run before the races start.
