Dorset Charity Golf Day
24th September 2021
Rushmore is a prestigious 18-hole golf course set high on the chalk of the Cranborne Chase, an area of outstanding natural beauty. The course has the unusual distinction of having nine holes in Dorset and nine in Wiltshire. Set in the heart of the historic Rushmore Park, the course is a haven of peace, with only the abundant wildlife and spectacular views to distract you from your game.
The club prides itself on its warm and friendly welcome to members and visitors alike. It has an active membership, with many golf and social events taking place throughout the year. It welcomes societies and visitors seven days a week, offering excellent golf, good home-cooked food and a fine selection of beer and wine.
Rushmore is eight miles from Shaftesbury, 11 miles from Blandford and 18 miles from Salisbury. The course is clearly signed from the A30, A354 and the B3081.
Rushmore combines the best of both worlds; a thoroughly modern golf course set in beautiful, ancient parkland which is now forging a reputation as one of the best golf courses in the region.
The course compromises 18 challenging holes set out over 6,358 yards from the championship tee. A thought-provoking layout will offer both a test of the golfer’s playing ability and course management.
Rushmore possesses many distinguished features. A combination of three par 5s and four par 3s ranging from 548 to 160 yards will ensure all aspects of the golfer’s game will be tested. The nine holes situated in Dorset will be the only place a bunker can be found, but water hazards are present in both counties! However, the beautiful Sequoia trees, which tower over the course are ever present throughout the course.
