Sahara 100km Challenge
Join us on the most amazing adventure across the Sahara Desert. Trek 100km through dunes, over stony plains, along dry river beds and camp at night under spectacular stars. For all the runners out there, the trek loosely follows part of the Marathon des Sables, denoted by the little coloured pebbles on the ground. Fully supported by our local guides, our fantastic chefs, mountain leaders, as well as jeeps and camels, this trek is simply awe-inspiring.
Challenge highlights…
- Experience the varied terrain and the wildlife of the Sahara Desert
- Trek over plateaus, sand dunes, valleys, gorges and stunning oases
- Trek between 12-28km per day, total of 100km
- Fully supported trek with camels and desert guides and cooks

Why trek for ABF The Soldiers’ Charity?
Taking part in the Sahara 100km Challenge will help us raise vital funds so that all soldiers, veterans and their immediate families can have the opportunity to avoid hardship and enjoy independence and dignity.
The overall scale, breath and range of the charity’s support is vast. We help serving families cope with a sudden bereavement or traumatic loss; provide wide-ranging support to wounded soldiers, many of whom will need increasing financial assistance for decades to come; provide help with housing, education and training for employment for soldiers and veterans of all ages; we are there for older veterans and their widows or widowers when they find themselves lonely or isolated.
In the past year, we have helped 70,000 people in 68 countries across the globe and funded numerous charities and organisations to support the Army family at large.
