Snowdonia Challenge, 25-27 June 2021
Snowdonia Challenge weekend each year sees individuals and teams of walkers from all over the UK (and further afield) challenge their mental, physical and emotional resilience in the beautiful surroundings of Snowdonia National Park.
Three days, three stunning but challenging routes and some of the best views Snowdonia has to offer.
Snowdonia Challenge routes take you away from the busiest areas of the national park. All routes are signed (no need to navigate) and you’re fully supported along the way. Not for the faint hearted this challenge will take you on a journey of self discovery. It is inspired by multi-day challenges used as military training events in Europe.
Snowdonia Challenge is based in Betws-y-Coed, North Wales. The perfect base to explore some of the less visited parts of Snowdonia with some of the best views the national park has to offer. Taking part in Snowdonia Challenge you will be part of an amazing experience where you will make new friends and explore parts of Snowdonia you’ve never been before.
The first Snowdonia Challenge was held in 2017. Created by our good friends at Breese Adventures and inspired by an event in Holland which started in 1909 as a military training event and now attracts 46,000 military and civilian participants each year.
Each morning we start nice and early (7am) from the beautiful village of Betws-y-Coed. On each day we follow a different route through the stunning Snowdonia mountains and forests starting from and returning to the same place each day.
Routes will start and finish on Cae Llan which is the green in the centre of the village. The whole event takes part over 3 days and 3 different routes totalling 100km.
Routes will be well marked and marshalled the whole way by qualified Mountain Leaders and first aiders. There’s no needs to navigate, just enjoy walking, chatting and the stunning views!
Our Training plan are specifically designed for this type of event. We recommend you are at ‘Tough’ or ‘Challenging’ level for this event, but even if you don’t feel fit enough yet you can start with the ‘Beginners’ plan and work your way up.
The dates for the Snowdonia Challenge is 25th -27th June 2021. The deadline for booking is 30 April 2021.
Demand is likely to be very high due to the success of previous challenges.
