Discover an amazing World War One tale of ‘David and Goliath’ courage in battle played out in the night-lit skies above London.

Released for Remembrance, our new podcast features BBC Antiques Roadshow’s Mark Smith, host Harry Bucknall and guests, telling the story of World War One flying soldier hero, Capt William Leefe Robinson VC, Royal Flying Corps. Robinson won the Victoria Cross 48 hours after he shot down a 500ft long German airship in September 1916; the fastest ever VC awarded, and the first one for action in Britain.

Robinson’s outstanding bravery in battle that day was in the best traditions of the British Army and made him a national hero. Our charity remembers all the British Army and Commonwealth soldiers who fought and died in the two world wars and later conflicts.
