We are delighted to award a £9,460 grant to Clervaux Trust to fund its Fold Family and Craft Days project for Army families.

Our charity is committed to promoting the welfare of Army families. Clervaux Trust, a subsidiary charity of the Ruskin Mill Trust, is based in Croft-on-Tees near Darlington and works with local community groups and the Army Welfare Service. The charity provides day and residential placements for young people and adults who have special educational needs and disabilities. It also organises community activities for military families.

Our donation will fund day courses at the charity’s dedicated Fold Family Centre for Army families from the nearby Catterick Garrison. The courses cover crafts, pottery, textiles, gardening and other activities that create a socially friendly ‘home away from home’ and also cater for family members with special educational needs.

Janine Christley, Director of Fundraising, Clervaux Trust, said:

We are delighted to be awarded this grant from ABF The Soldiers’ Charity. To provide another year’s worth of activity courses for military families is both a pleasure and an honour. We are extremely grateful for ABF The Soldiers’ Charity’s continued support, to enable these family days to happen.

Brigadier (Ret’d) Peter Monteith, Chief Operating Officer, ABF The Soldiers’ Charity, added:

Our charity supports a range of charities focused on the welfare of Army families, many of whom often need shared time together given the pressures brought about by family separation and operational service. We are proud to make this donation to Clervaux Trust.”
