On Sunday 23 April, 70 ABF The Soldiers’ Charity supporters, including serving soldiers and veterans, ran the London Marathon in the cool spring rain, watched by thousands of cheering Londoners.

This was our charity’s largest ever group of runners and we are incredibly proud of them all for taking on such a tough physical and mental challenge, smashing their personal bests and raising essential funds for soldiers, veterans and their families.

This year we were honoured that Garrison Sergeant Major Andrew “Vern” Stokes joined our team. Last year, Vern supervised the military ceremonial funeral arrangements for Her late Majesty Queen Elizabeth, and he will play an important role in the Coronation next month. So far, Vern has raised over £4,400, more than double his original fundraising goal.
