Although it may have gone unnoticed by many, yesterday marked National Talk in an Elevator Day; a day dreamt up by our American cousins to encourage people to shun silence when sharing a lift, and instead strike up a conversation with their fellow elevator (or ‘lift’) passengers.

We decided to take our own approach to the day by persuading four members of staff to take part in the Elevator Pitch Challenge: an opportunity to pitch their work within the Charity to camera in the time it takes to get from the ground to the third floor. That’s about 20 seconds, if you follow the rules…

Starting with an introduction to the challenge by Tom Cuff-Burnett, Acting Head of Communications, the video below shows members of The Soldiers’ Charity staff attempting the challenge, with varying degrees of success.
