We are pleased to award a £30,000 grant to the Spinal Injuries Association, to provide support for veterans who have sustained spinal cord injuries (SCI).
Our charity aims to provide soldiers, veterans and their families with the means to live independently and with dignity. The Spinal Injuries Association (SIA) provides spinal cord injured people with the tools, knowledge and confidence they need to manage their condition and live a fulfilled life after injury. Soldiers living with SCI are at risk of isolation, mental illness and life-threatening health complications.
The charity’s specialist regional support co-ordinators all live with spinal cord injury and two of their spinal cord injured staff members are ex-armed forces. Our grant will go towards SIA’s support network which provides a wide range of expert lifetime support to spinal cord injured veterans, their families and the healthcare professionals supporting them.
