We have recently awarded £150,000 to Erskine to help towards the cost of caring for 71 Army veterans in Scotland.
Erskine Care Homes provide veterans with the companionship of like-minded people. Erskine not only cares for our veterans – but they care about them.
Erskine’s person-centered care is tailored to the needs of each individual veteran. All bedrooms are equipped with full disabled access and en-suite facilities. Their recreation facilities provide social activities, entertainment, and organise day or evening trips which are of huge importance to their residents’ health and wellbeing. In addition, cottages for veterans and their families have been a feature of the Erskine estate for many years.
Our service personnel display the highest levels of bravery and courage throughout the world, and it is only right that Erskine is there for them should they need support in the future.
Sara Bannerman, Head of External Relations at Erskine, explains that “Erskine is proud to provide residential, nursing, dementia, and respite care for our Army veterans. We share ABF The Soldiers’ Charity’s values that, those who have served, deserve our respect and our support, for life. We are indebted to The Soldiers’ Charity for their continued support, as this enables us to provide enhanced care services tailored to individual need, choice, and preferences. In addition, communal recreation and one-to-one activities enhance our veterans’ health and wellbeing with group outings providing a lot of fun social events with like-minded people.”
Major General (Ret’d) Martin Rutledge, Chief Executive ABF The Soldiers’ Charity, adds: “We are grateful to Erskine for all the hard work they put in to make sure our Scottish veterans are getting the help and social interaction they deserve. Their estate provides a wonderful place for our veterans to reside and we value their commitment to providing top quality care for their health and wellbeing. On behalf of The Soldiers’ Charity, I would like to say a big thank you for the work you do.”
