Vitax Limited, one of the UK’s leading garden and horticulture manufacturers, has joined forces with ABF The Soldiers’ Charity for 2018.

During the 100th anniversary of the end of World War One and in support of our ‘2018: Every Soldier – Past, Present and Future’ campaign, Vitax will be helping to raise funds and awareness through the sale of promotional packs of Q4 Pelleted Fertiliser.

Already on the way to garden centres throughout the UK, for every 2.5kg pack of Q4 fertiliser sold, 20p will be donated to our work.

This is the first time Vitax has utilised one of its product ranges to support a charity, as Paul Gooding, chairman at Vitax, explains:

“For the first time Vitax will be utilising the popularity of its Q4 product range to raise awareness of its charity partner. We chose Q4 as it is popular with many gardeners. The Soldiers’ Charity is a fantastic organisation that has impressed with the work it delivers to serving soldiers and veterans, and we are very proud to support during 2018.”

The ‘2018: Every Soldier – Past, Present and Future’ campaign offers the chance for both organisations to reflect on the use of horticulture therapy for recovering physical and mental health of soldiers and veterans. The use of gardening and plants to aid recovery was employed during WW1 and can be seen in our Grants Programme today.

We give grants to specialist organisations who deliver horticulture therapy, and support individuals with grants to address a variety of needs. This ranges from supporting with the cost of home modifications ensuring an elderly veteran has access to their garden, to helping a medically discharged soldier with the courses and equipment they need to start a new career in horticulture.
