We are grateful to receive varied support from Trusts & Foundations which reflects the breadth of our provision for beneficiaries. Our funders include family and local trusts in addition to well-known national funding bodies with grants ranging in size; from unrestricted annual donations, to high-level strategic partnerships.

We work with current and potential funders to ensure the impact of their donation aligns with the values and interests of their Trustees. We send regular update reports, where required, to our funders to demonstrate this impact through metrics and case studies, sharing the real stories of beneficiaries whose lives have been changed as a result of their generosity.

Unrestricted donations allow our Grants and Welfare team the flexibility to give support where help is most needed. Region-specific donations, or donations towards defined programmes such as our Place to Call Home project, enables us to plan ahead with regards to funding needs.

Our support for the Army family addresses a variety of issues. We help individuals facing mobility barriers, housing challenges, family needs, mental fitness, problems linked to old age and educational needs to support employment. The oldest recipient of a grant last year was 103 years old, while the youngest was a two-year-old.

As an organisation, we do not receive government subsidy, and therefore must rely on the generosity of supporters such as Trusts and Foundations to raise the money we need to support beneficiaries. Our Trusts team is happy to provide information on our support programmes or our work in specific regions, and work side by side with Trustees to ensure their funding objectives are met. We are also happy to arrange a visit to our offices to discuss larger funding opportunities.

Funder Spotlight

We are very grateful for the support we receive from all of our Trusts and Foundations. We are proud to have forged some bespoke, strategic partnerships, developed through multi-year agreements which deliver defined impact and metrics. Some examples of these partnerships include:

National Garden Scheme

The National Garden Scheme  have been supporting ABF The Soldiers’ Charity since 2010, providing funding for soldiers, veterans, and their families in the field of horticulture. We are enormously grateful for their ongoing commitment to supporting the Army family in need and, in particular, for their most recent partnership agreement which they continued to deliver during the challenges of the pandemic.

The Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo

Many thanks to The Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo for their long-term and continued support of our work. Their significant funding has enabled ABF The Soldiers’ Charity to deliver vital assistance to individuals and delivery organisations in both Scotland, and nationally.

The spectacular Tattoo will make a much welcomed return to Edinburgh in the summer of 2022.

The Worshipful Company of Dyers

We would like to thank The Worshipful Company of Dyers for their ongoing support over several years. With their funding, ABF The Soldiers’ Charity has been able to strategically forward plan our benevolence towards individuals, ensuring we can provide bespoke support to soldiers, veterans, and their immediate families.

ABF The Soldiers’ Charity receives no regular government support, and all our work in the UK and internationally is only made possible thanks to our generous supporters. We are grateful to all those Trusts & Foundations who support our work.
